What is Tanay MDRRMO?
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRMO) of Tanay, Rizal is at the forefront of providing disaster prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response, and rehabilitation and recovery – the Four Thematic Areas of DRRM.
The office was created in compliance with Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010. Tanay MDRRMO is headed by Mr. Rafael A. Vicente, LDRRM Officer III. His staff includes Mr. Berlin P. Flores, LDRRM Officer I for Research and Planning, and Mr. Berlito P. Bati, Jr., Administrative Aide III for Administration and Training.
What are the functions of Tanay MDRRMO?
Tanay MDRRMO is LGU Tanay’s official disaster response unit tasked to provide expedient and appropriate response service to constituents in times of flooding, typhoons, earthquake, fire, and vehicular accidents. The office also ensures preparedness and survival of local communities in times of disasters, both natural and human-induced.
Tanay MDRRMO also conducts capacity building activities, DRRM mainstreaming, and regular information and education programs for schools, public and private sector employees, and private individuals on the various facets of disaster risk reduction and management. Moreover, the office extends help to other local government units in Rizal whenever needed.
