The Local Government of Tanay through Tanay Tourism Office, in its goal to be known as a “regional tourism haven,” joined for the second year the Big Bag Travel and Food Fair held on October 27-29, 2015 at the Activity Center of Robinson’s Galleria in Mandaluyong City.
The event was organized by the Big Bag Marketing Promotions in partnership with Robinson’s Galleria. It was participated by different business enterprises, hotels and resorts, travel and tour agencies, travel and lifestyle magazines, and municipalities that have a variety of destinations, attractions, events and activities to offer.
Also with the Local Government Unit of Tanay in the exhibit are Tanay Hills Coffee/Gathering Café and Ten Cents to Heaven. As part of Tanay’s participation to the event, different promotional materials including AVP presentations, brochures, tour packages, and local crafts and products made by Tanayans were showcased. Moreover, Tourism Staff on duty also seized the opportunity to promote the upcoming Hane Festival slated on November 12-15.
As a positive result of joining Big Bag, locals from neighboring cities in Metro Manila went to Daranak and other Tanay Tourist Destinations for a visit over the weekend. Moreover, an academic institution, with more or less 180 pupil-participants, also coordinated with the Tourism Officer for their upcoming educational field trip in Tanay.
Hence, with all these positive response of the people to Tanay Tourism and its promotion and marketing campaigns, participating in such events is one of the most effective strategies that the local government has been continuously doing to attract and encourage possible guests and clients. Furthermore, with the influx of tourists coming over to Tanay, the local tourism industry can now be considered a major economic driver and has put our municipality’s name in the national tourism map.
