Opening of Tanay Art Exhibit

Said art exhibit is the fifth year for the LGU to hold such event as part of the celebration of the festival. This year, more than 30 local visual artists collaborated and put their artworks on display.

Municipal Vice Mayor Jaime B. Vista, a member of Tanay Artists Group himself, said in his welcome remarks and rationale that the annual Hane Art Exhibit serves as an avenue for visual artists like him to showcase their talents and artistry. He noted further that the members of the artist group are thankful to Honorable Mayor Rafael A. Tanjuatco for acknowledging the group’s artistic endeavors. Likewise, Mr. Angelito Florendo, another member of the group, expressed his gratitude to all people who have supported them to realize this year’s exhibit.

Mayor Tanjuatco, meanwhile, conveyed his strong support to Tanay Artists Group as he believe they are partners of the local government, through the art pieces that they produce,  in promoting Tanay – its tourism, environment, culture and tradition, and people. He said that the Hane Festival is an occasion to showcase many characteristics that are truly Tanay, thus the LGU is encouraging the participation of all the members of the community.

This year’s Art Exhibit will run from October 26-November 14, 2015. As of this writing, a number of paintings have already been sold after just a week.
