Tanay Mayor Rex Manuel C. Tanjuatco received a Plaque of Appreciation from Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Calabarzon under Dir. Archie A. Grande last June 23, 2017.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Calabarzon under Dir. Archie A. Grande cited Mayor Tanjuatco’s intensive anti-illegal drugs campaign in support of President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on illicit drugs.
Tanay, a first-class municipality with 19 barangays, has been actively campaigning to curb the spread of illegal drugs, which affects many of its residents.
Its efforts allowed it to have 7 barangays declared as drug-free by PDEA, with other barangays eyed to get the same declaration.
Under the directive of PDEA Director General Isidro Lapeña, Tanay has been actively pushing for more active involvement of barangay officials in the local implementation of the national government’s anti-illicit drugs programs.
Among such campaigns are the MASA MASID (Mamamayang Ayaw sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw sa Iligal na Droga), Oplan Tokhang and Taphang, and the establishment of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) to complement the programs, projects, and activities of the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Office chaired by Hon. Rex Manuel C. Tanjuatco.
Mayor RM Tanjuatco is ultimately pushing for more intensified, inclusive, and participative anti-illegal drugs campaign to achieve the drug-cleared municipality status
