Top-performing barangays of Tanay were recognized by the municipal government through the Seal of Good Barangay Governance (SGBG). The awarding ceremony was held during the Gabi ng Parangal 2018last November 12, 8thHane Festival’s culminating activity at the Tanay municipal hall grounds.
Among the top-performers for this year’s awarding were Barangay San Isidro, Barangay Wawa, and Barangay TandangKutyo. San Isidromaintained its distinction for Good Social Protection, Tourism and People-Friendliness, Peace and Order, Disaster Preparedness, and Environmental Management. On the other hand, Wawa claimed the top spot in Peace and Order, Disaster Preparedness, and Environmental Management, and the second place in Tourism and People-Friendliness. Meanwhile,TandangKutyo, which only received a plaque last year, scored big in Social Protection, Disaster Preparedness, and Peace and Order.
For 2017 and 2018, San Isidro and Wawa remained on top of the list. As an incentive, both barangays will each receive P100,000 worth of projects from the local government.
Now on its second year, the SGBG, the first of its kind in CALABARZON, is Tanay’s version of the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Seal of Good Local Governance which recognizes the integrity and excellence in public governance in the areas of Financial Administration, Peace and Order, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Environmental Management, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness (Tourism and People-Friendliness for the local version).
