The Municipal Government of Tanay recognized the contributions of its outstanding senior citizens through the Gawad Pang-ala Alang Gregoria A. Tanjuatco held last Oct. 9, 2015 at the Municipal Grounds.

Themed “Nakatatanda: Gabay, Tulay, Kaagapay at Bantay Tungo sa Kaunlaran”, the event was in celebration of Elderly Filipino Week (Linggo ng Nakatatandang Pilipino) held every first week of October as mandated in Proclamation No. 470.


Tanay Tourism Office’s Jeffrey M. Pino bagged this year’s Most Outstanding Tourism Officer title in the recently concluded 10th Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines – Department of Tourism (ATOP-DOT) Pearl Award Night held at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City.

The Municipality of Tanay recognizes the importance of information and communication technology (ICT) in the the delivery of basic services to the public especially on health care provision. Mayor Rafael A. Tanjuatco has initiated to avail the services of UP Manila – National Telehealth Center in realizing this aim. After few coordination, Tanay has now becomes the RxBox recipient. RxBox is a portable telemedicine device connected to an electronic medical record. It can capture physiologic signals, store the data as an electronic medical record and send them to clinical specialists should there be a need for specialized care. This project is a product of NTHC’s collaboration with the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Institute (EEEI) of UP Diliman, and the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (ASTI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and is a research program funded by the DOST – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD). Its medical sensors include the following:

Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Leila De Lima was Guest of Honor during the Barangay Justice System Seminar held Oct. 7, 2015 at the Activity Area of the New Tanay Municipal Hall.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Tanay, Rizal topped the 2015 Regional Gawad Kalasag for 1st-3rd Class Municipality LDRRMC Category.

Part of the LGU Tanay’s drive to further improve the literacy for its constituents, the LGU under the administration of Mayor Rex Manuel C. Tanjuatco has recommended and help the A Brown Company, Inc. to donate, a half hectare lot for the Youth of Tanay as the new site of a new school that will rise along Sampaloc Road in Brgy. Sampaloc area.

LGU Tanay and DEPED-Rizal have lauded Dr. Walter William Bendaña Brown and it’s family for making an extraordinary donation for the youth of Tanay.
Dr. Walter William Bendaña Brown is a proud Tanayan and he is currently a Director and Chairman Emeritus of A Brown Company, Inc. currently he choose to stay in his beloved town in Tanay.
